Pressure Trouble with Your Sprayer? Let's Do the Bucket Test.

Posted by David McWhertor on

This easy bucket test can help you figure out if your sprayer's diaphragm pump is the problem, or the problem is with its plumbing.

We recommend you test this with an auxiliary suction hose of at least 24" and you can order a hose piece from our store here.

Start by disconnecting the suction line from the pump, then attach one end of the auxiliary hose to the pump and the other end into a bucket of water. Once your engine is running, you'll be able to see immediately if your pump is generating proper suction.

(In this video we ran a second bypass hose into the bucket, a step unnecessary for testing but which would keep the water cycling back into the bucket rather than entering the tank)
