The Vangard 5 HP Engine is Replacing the GC160 Engine on Kings Sprayers

Kings Sprayers has manufactured our P5 and P15 sprayer models for the past 40 years using the Honda GC160 Series engine. Honda has informed us they are discontinuing the model. All P5 and P15 sprayers purchased from here on out will be equipped with the comparable Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 5 HP engine. 

The Vanguard engine has the same HP and performance as the GC160, and similar pricing, which means we can make the switch without increasing the cost or sacrificing any performance.

If you intend to replace the engine on an existing P5 or P15 sprayer, please make note of some very important configuration differences below. 

Key Information on the GC160 / Vanguard 5 HP Engine Swap

• The Vanguard engine exhaust is the opposite of the Honda GC160
• The exhaust matches the commercial GX160 Honda on the P20 & P70 sprayers
• The location of the pump and engine will need to be flipped or require the use of a deflector on the new engine to avoid burning a hole in the tank
