Stability under load
Four wheels spread the load and reduce the tendency to tip on side slopes. On uneven ground with a partly full tank, that stability is the main reason to choose this frame over a two wheel.
Turning radius
The trade is manoeuvrability. A four wheel frame needs more room to turn and does not back up as predictably. If you work tight properties with gates and corners, weigh this carefully.
Sizing
Most operators move to a 4-wheel frame at 150 gallons and above. Below that, a 2-wheel or a skid usually makes more sense.
